Meet Rayne Evren
Rayne Evren is a British author and illustrator writing stories where magic hides in plain sight and ordinary children discover they’re anything but. Owen Jones & The Mythical Orb is his debut novel, the first in a series exploring friendship, secrets, and what happens when the world you thought you knew turns out to be a thin veneer over something far older and stranger.
When not writing, Rayne can be found wandering ancient ruins, filling sketchbooks with characters and creatures that may or may not exist, and drinking entirely too much tea. He lives in France with his family and a growing collection of notebooks filled with ideas that wake him up at three in the morning.
Owen Jones & The Mythical Orb is his first self-published novel.
Owen Jones & The Mythical Orb
Thirteen-year-old Owen’s nightmares are getting worse. Flames, shadows, and a figure who watches from the dark. When his archaeologist dad unearths a mysterious Orb, Owen discovers he’s a Dreamwalker—a rare Magus who can walk in dreams. But the Orb’s power attracts the sinister Viktor, who kidnaps Owen’s father and demands the artifact. To get his dad back, Owen must master rune magic, fast. With his two best friends and a grumpy talking cat by his side, Owen must journey into the dangerous Dreamworld and learn that the strongest magic isn’t about power, but protecting the people you love.
